At the forefront of the international community&#8217;s commitment to achieving food security and improving the nutrition of populations by 2030, the WFP Centre of Excellence aims to bring together countries that face similar challenges in the areas of food and nutrition security.<\/p>\n<p>Through the joint work between governments, international organizations, NGOs, the private sector and civil society, we can achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), so that each person can lead a healthy and productive life. The combination of WFP&#8217;s presence in more than 80 countries, linked to its capacity to promote cooperation to create healthy environments, and ACT\u2019s advocacy expertise could enable future cooperation actions to result in effective initiatives to combat multiple forms of malnutrition.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Balaban, Director of WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger, celebrated the meeting. &#8220;We are always ready to establish partnerships in favour of positive agendas, be they in the area of \u200b\u200beducation, health or social developments\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About ACT<\/strong> &#8211; ACT Health Promotion was founded in 2006 under the name of Tobacco Control Alliance with the proposal to work for public policies in this area. However, in 2014, ACT also started working to prevent other risk factors for chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), which, in addition to smoking control, include the promotion of healthy eating, physical activity, among other issues.
