The process was initiated by the WFP country office in The Gambia in March 2019, when the Global Agriculture and Food Security Programme (GAFSP), a global fund financed by the G20 and managed by the World Bank, was launched. The GAFSP call aimed at providing resources to scale-up agricultural, food and nutrition security assistance to fragile and conflict-ridden countries.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16394\" src=\"https:\/\/centrodeexcelencia.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/publicacao.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"701\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Right after the initial contact with the country office, the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger Brazil triggered its Direct and Remote Technical Assistance methodology and deployed two programme policy experts to Banjul to provide guidance and support at that initial phase.
