\"\"The WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil\u00a0participated\u00a0in the\u00a0AtivaCredi\u00a0Amaz\u00f4nia Forum \u2013\u00a0Maraj\u00f3\u00a0Resiliente\u00a0Edition, an event created to strengthen access to rural credit in the region, promoting connections between family farmers, financial institutions, government\u00a0agencies\u00a0and civil society.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Held on 4 March in Salvaterra, at the\u00a0Maneja\u00ed\u00a0Reference Centre in the state of Par\u00e1, the event brought together more than 400 people, with representatives from around 40 institutions and 20 communities, including family farmers, cooperatives, associations and partner entities, with a special focus on\u00a0quilombola\u00a0groups linked to the\u00a0Maraj\u00f3\u00a0Resiliente\u00a0project.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Representing the Centre of Excellence, the nutritionist from the\u00a0Programmes\u00a0Unit,\u00a0Sineide\u00a0Neres, participated in the event and took part in the roundtable discussion on public policy interaction, in which she addressed topics related to family farming with a focus on traditional peoples and communities, making connections with the work of school cooks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0programme\u00a0included a joint effort to\u00a0regularise\u00a0documents, exchange experiences and\u00a0provide\u00a0technical guidance with a focus on activating credit lines from the National\u00a0Programme\u00a0for Strengthening Family Agriculture (Pronaf).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the agenda included specific topics such as the implementation of biodigester septic tanks, native bee management, minimum impact management of native palm groves, and agroforestry systems.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
