\"\"The WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil launched its 2025 Annual Report on 7 April, available in Portuguese and English on the organisation\u2019s website. The publication brings together the year\u2019s key results in South-South cooperation, school feeding, nutrition, family farming and strategic partnerships, reaffirming Brazil\u2019s role as a global leader in tackling hunger and malnutrition.<\/p>\n

In 2025, the Centre played a prominent role in international agendas, with a focus on hosting the 2nd Global Summit of the School Feeding Coalition in Fortaleza, which brought together officials from around 80 countries. The report highlights how the event strengthened global commitments to expanding school feeding programmes and cemented Brazil\u2019s position as the epicentre of this debate on the international stage.<\/p>\n

The publication also presents the progress made in technical cooperation, carried out by the Centre of Excellence in partnership with the National Fund for Educational Development and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency in countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America, through in-person missions and virtual visits.<\/p>\n

Highlights include initiatives aimed at strengthening school feeding and family farming in Benin, the Republic of Congo, S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, Senegal and Pakistan, with tangible results such as nutrition training, the implementation of social technologies, support for public policy formulation, and the expansion of local procurement for schools.<\/p>\n

Another central theme of the report is innovation. In 2025, the Centre launched, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and the Fight against Hunger, initiatives such as InovaSAN and AlimentaLAB, aimed at identifying and disseminating innovative solutions from the Global South for food systems that are healthier, more sustainable and more resilient to climate change.<\/p>\n

The publication also highlights the recognition of school cooks through the reality show \u201cEscola de Sabores\u201d, the result of a partnership between the Centre of Excellence, the FNDE and ABC, broadcast on TV Band, which brought visibility to traditional indigenous, quilombola and riverine peoples and communities and showcased the reality of a Brazil that is little known to most Brazilians.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Annual Report reinforces technical cooperation as a strategic tool for building inclusive and sustainable food systems.
