From 17 to 19 November, the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger Brazil will take part in the 18th Congress of the Latin American Confederation of Nutritionists and Dietitians (Confelanyd), an international event that brings together the Latin American and Caribbean community of nutritionists from 14 countries, including Brazil, Colombia and Peru, which are the cooperating countries in the Nurture the Future project. On 17 November, at 12:00pm (Brasília time), the Centre of Excellence will host the thematic seminar “Perspectives and Challenges of Food and Nutrition Policies against Obesity”.
The seminar will feature talks by the General Coordination of Food and Nutrition of the Ministry of Health of Brazil, as well as a debate on national strategies and challenges for the implementation of actions to tackle childhood obesity, with the participation of specialists from Brazil, Colombia and Peru. The seminar also marks the launch of the publication “Childhood Obesity: Prevention and Care Actions in Brazil, Colombia and Peru”. To participate, please visit the event’s website and register.
