The World Food Programme (WFP) Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil took part, on Wednesday, May 3, in the meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Group for Food and Nutrition Sovereignty and Security and the Fight against Hunger in Brazil. Coordinated by Padre João (PT-MG), the Parliamentary Group aims to boost the development of public policies to combat food and nutritional insecurity.
The launch event discussed measures that are being taken by the federal government in order to stimulate the production of healthy food and to combat hunger and the role of the entities present in this context. “It’s time for us to join forces and work together so that the political will to end hunger emerges and that’s what this Group is for,” said Daniel Balaban, Director of WFP Centre of Excellence.
