The government of Brazil donated around 4 thousand units of personal protective equipment to reinforce the Somali contingency plan to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The symbolic handover ceremony took place on January 28th, in Mogadishu, with the participation, by videoconference, of the Brazilian ambassador in Nairobi, who also represents the country with the Somali Government. The Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), coordinated the initiative, and the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil provided logistics support.
