The Global Agribusiness Festival 2025, an international event that brings together agribusiness leaders and experts from around the world to discuss the sector’s global challenges and explore innovative and sustainable solutions, will be held in São Paulo on 5 and 6 June.
The Festival will be attended by the Director of the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil, Daniel Balaban, who will speak on the panel entitled “Local Markets: How to connect family producers directly to consumers and strengthen the local economy”, scheduled for today, 6 June, at noon (Brasília time).
For Balaban, the event is an opportunity to highlight the importance of family farming for the local economy and how the strategy of institutional purchases from family producers is fundamental to strengthening it. ‘This integration between family farming and local markets stimulates the economy, promotes food security and contributes to more sustainable and inclusive food systems,’ he says.
Over the course of the two-day event, more than 200 speakers are debating the role of agriculture in the Brazilian and international economic scenario, the direction of the sector, trends, innovations, the preservation of natural resources and sustainable solutions for the growing population. In addition to the panels, the event’s programme also includes exhibitions, gastronomic spaces and concerts. The Festival is organised by Datagro and has more than 20,000 registered participants.
