About the GSSD Expo
The GSSD Expo is a yearly global event organised by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) in New York aimed at showcasing the best and most innovative examples of evidence-based and “home-grown” development solutions and initiatives from developing countries around the world, in collaboration with United Nations agencies, governments, donors and other partners. This year, the GSSD Expo will be co-hosted by the Government of Thailand and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
WFP has been participating in the expo since 2014. This year, WFP, FAO and IFAD will organize a Thematic Solution Forum that will focus on presenting the upcoming joint programme on South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) in home-grown school feeding, which aims to benefit five countries and aims to feature SSTC engagement and knowledge transfer. In addition to the WFP Centre of Excellence in Brazil, the WFP Centres in China and Cote d’Ivoire will also host side events this year.
