How can we transform food systems so that they become stronger and more resilient? How can we support smallholder farmers and promote healthier and more sustainable eating habits? These and other topics will be addressed at an online event on October 16th, in celebration of World Food Day, one of the most important dates for the United Nations. During the event, speakers will address concrete actions that are taking place in cities and the countryside to tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time.
Presenters are Aline Martins, Knowledge Management Manager at the Semear Internacional Programme; José Eduardo Scardua, CEO and founder of Raiz Capixaba; Marie Tarrisse, Sustainability Manager at Grupo Carrefour Brasil; and Naiara Santestevan, owner of VivaFlor, part of Grupo Pé na Terra. The event, which will take place at 5pm (Brasília time), is being organised by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in partnership with the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger Brazil, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).
