AlimentaLAB, the Laboratory for Innovation in Public Policies for Healthy and Sustainable Food Systems, is now accepting registrations for inclusion on its digital platform of initiatives that contribute to the construction of food systems that are more equitable, healthy, and resilient to climate change.
The platform, launched in June 2025, brings together experiences from countries in the Global South on the themes of “Climate and healthy food systems”, “Urban food policies”, “Food environments”, and “Public procurement”.
Initiatives on all topics can be registered at any time, but two topics still have an open deadline for inclusion in an e-book and webinars: “Food environments”, until 30 April 2026, and “Public procurement”, until 30 June 2026.
AlimentaLAB is part of the InovaSAN Project (a name that combines Innovation and Food and Nutritional Security), the result of a partnership between the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Hunger Alleviation (MDS), the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) and the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil.
The aim is to gather experiences in each of these areas and disseminate them in four discussion webinars.
The platform will serve as a repository of best practices that can be easily accessed to drive public policies and innovative initiatives in sustainable food systems, which guarantee access to healthy, safe, and nutritious food for all people, without depleting natural resources and without compromising the livelihoods of those who produce it.
