The WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil will take part in a webinar on nutrition and school feeding on Thursday, June 30. The event, organized by the WFP Centre of Excellence for Rural Transformation in China, the Regional Centre of Excellence against Hunger and Malnutrition in Côte D’Ivoire (CERFAM) and the Centre of Excellence in Brazil, will present experiences on children nutrition improvement through school feeding and digitalized approaches, with practical examples from China, Brazil and Zambia.
WFP primarily supports school feeding in schools that provide formal basic education and 15 million schoolchildren received nutritious meals and snacks from WFP in 2020. Working with governments to build capacity, WFP helped bolster the national school feeding programmes of 65 countries, benefitting a further 39 million children. WFP is also a supporter of the School Meals Coalition, which aims at improving or restoring national, sustainable school meal programmes, to ensure every child has the opportunity to receive a healthy, nutritious meal in school by 2030.
The webinar will take place from 7.30pm Beijing Time/8.30am Brasília time and will offer simultaneous translation in Chinese, English, French and Spanish. Registrations are free and available on this page. The organizers have also prepared a pre-event survey, which is available here.
