The Director of the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger Brazil, Daniel Balaban, was the guest speaker at the online National International Relations Students Conference (ENERI), called ENERI Bahia Quarantine 2020, on Monday 8 June. In his lecture, called International Food Security: Public Policies and Hunger on the International Stage, Daniel Balaban addressed topics such as the principles that guided the creation of the United Nations and the WFP, in addition to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the situation of hunger in the world.
The Director also spoke about the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the increase of hunger in the most vulnerable regions of the planet and about the work of the Centre of Excellence against Hunger in projects across the globe. At the end, participants had the opportunity to ask questions.
