Centre of Excellence renews partnership with the Federal District Government for joint initiatives

©WFP/Paula Brant

The WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil and the Federal District Government (GDF) have renewed the Memorandum of Understanding that guides joint actions in the areas of food and nutritional security, family farming, school feeding and international cooperation.

Valid for four years, the partnership will continue the exchange of experiences between the Federal District and countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, through study visits, technical missions, training programmes and events on topics such as school feeding, public procurement from family farming, nutrition and social protection.

The memorandum also reinforces the participation of institutions such as the Federal District State Secretariat for Education (Seduc-DF), the Federal District State Secretariat for Agriculture, Supply and Rural Development (Seagri-DF) and the Federal District Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Agency (Emater-DF) in disseminating Brazilian best practices to international delegations, thereby strengthening South-South cooperation and the sharing of public policies aimed at combating hunger and developing sustainable food systems.
