Exhibition recognizes good practices in healthcare

The WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger participated in the First Exhibition of Innovative Experiences in the Unified Health System in the Federal District, on 5 and 6 December. Organized by the government of the Federal District, the initiative aimed to identify good practices in the Federal District healthcare network and stimulate knowledge transfer and technologies exchange among professionals.

The Exhibition received 575 entries, which were analyzed by three evaluators. The evaluation committee selected 193 experiences for oral presentation on the two-day event. After the oral presentation, a jury of five experts defined the winners of the Exhibition, which received cash prizes. The top three nominees from each of the seven Exhibition categories were awarded.

The WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger supported the organization of the event and offered a special award for the best project related to addressing malnutrition and nutritional deficiencies and social protection through food and nutrition. The experts panel selected among the validated proposals 68 projects that were most related to the work of the WFP Centre. The winner was the project “Ultra processed foods: a public health issue”, developed in one healthcare unit of a poor neighborhood in the Federal District. The winner will participate in an international trip to accompany a WFP Centre of Excellence activity.
