“It’s amazing to show my work to another country,” says riverside cook Antônia de Souza

© Melissa Haidar

Read the following testimony from cook Antônia de Souza, from the Jordão Riverside Community (AC), who expertly prepared the typical recipe from São Tomé and Príncipe, Soô de Banana Pão, in Episode 5:

‘Winning this challenge was exciting, because when I was standing there in front of the judges, I was nervous. But when they mentioned my name, I felt relieved and a sense of accomplishment. Winning the São Tomé and Príncipe dish was a moment of great joy because it was an incredible experience to show my work to another country, and also to represent riverside cooks.’
