On 28 May, government representatives from Jordan and Brazil took part in the second virtual visit to learn about specific aspects of the Brazilian school feeding model. These include the legal framework, financing, institutional coordination, monitoring, community participation and integration with family farming.
The activity was promoted by the World Food Programme (WFP) Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil in partnership with the National Education Development Fund (FNDE), the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) and the WFP in Jordan.
The Jordanian delegation took part in the first virtual visit on 14 May and then had the opportunity to watch themed videos providing information on the National School Feeding Programme (PNAE).
This second session was aimed at answering questions from the Jordanian delegation, which participated actively and sought to learn more about the creation of the PNAE structure, how it is financed and how it is monitored in the different stages of the process, among other topics.
The visit also discussed how to adapt the lessons learnt to the local context and possibilities for new strategic partnerships on these issues.
The event brought together FNDE technicians in the areas of nutrition, management and international consultancy and members of the PNAE Programmes unit.
