WFP takes part in virtual event about Cannes Young Lions award

The WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger Brazil’s partnership and communications teams took part in a virtual event with young Brazilians interested in competing for the Cannes Young Lions award, which is part of the official programme of the Cannes festival. The contest, which has the WFP as a global partner, seeks the best proposals to solve problems related to hunger and food waste.

At the virtual meeting, which took place on Tuesday 9 June, the WFP team in Brazil detailed the agency’s role in providing humanitarian aid to more than 100 million people in more than 80 countries. The team also presented the work of the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger and projects on school feeding, family farming and nutrition that are underway in Brazil and other partner countries.
