Brazil made a humanitarian donation to Mozambique to assist the country in the fight against COVID-19. The donation included 60,000 latex gloves, 20,000 N95 masks, 900 individual protective clothing for health professionals, in addition to thermometers, goggles, among other items. The donation was a response to the country’s request for support from the Brazilian Government in the fight against COVID-19.
A symbolic ceremony to mark the delivery of the donations took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, in Maputo, at the end of March. The Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), coordinated the initiative, which was implemented by the Embassy of Brazil in Maputo, with the support of the World Food Programme (WFP).
