Virtual Study Visit

The “Virtual Study Visit: Brazil” consists in a series of videos in English (with subtitles available in Portuguese and Spanish) that simulate an immersion into the Brazilian National School Feeding Programme (PNAE), covering the most relevant information points discussed in an onsite visit to Brazil.

The Virtual Visit methodology is built upon the practice of sharing the Brazilian Experience, as the WFP Centre of Excellence has been offering to other countries for the last ten years in partnership with the National Fund for the Development of Education (FNDE) and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC).

The material consists of 8 explanatory and dynamic videos, as follows:

a) The first is an introductory video with a presentation of the WFP Centre of Excellence in Brazil, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) and the National Fund for the Development of Education (FNDE) – facilitators of the Virtual Study Visit Process.

b) Videos #1 to #6 are the core videos of the Virtual Study Visit with the following themes: 1 – Legal Framework; 2 – Financing; 3 – Institutional Capacity and Policy Coordination; 4 –Design and Implementation; 5 – Community Participation; 6 – Smallholder farming.

c) Video #7 is a short video that tries to simulate a field visit in Brazil, showing that everything starts in the field with the small production that goes to a cooperative and then to the local schools.
